How it all started... How it all started.... After I retired from my retail job of 20 plus years I had quite a bit of time on my hands. I'm one of those types who cant sit still for to long and with no destination from 9 to 5 I began to wonder what is next for me. Luckily an opportunity to work at a boarding facility opened up and my first though was that would be neat to work with dogs with my open time. I worked there for a couple of months, but it was after only my first day I realized this is what I want to do! Interactions with them filled my heart with such joy and the opportunity to give back to animals some of the love they had given to me all my life was now my new goal in life. Just because I was no longer at the boarding facility I was not going to give up that feeling I got each day going to work there, that's when Affordable and Affectionate Pet Care was created, an in home pat service that provided over night pet sitting, drop in visits, play dates and even walks and I was going to do it with the same loving care as an owner gives their pet, Personally I have 4 dogs myself, and let me say in the past i have only used family members to care for them because hiring someone in the past has been frustrating to say the least, The sitter has taken off for a longer period of time we agreed upon, invited visitors over and just basically not followed through upon what I thought I was getting in a pet sitter. Leaving me to think where are standards if you are being paid to do a job. My standards, if I am pet sitting I am with your pet and that pet is getting attention or affection or my company during the duration of my stay, I explain that to my potential customers that I'm there 100% unless cleared by them directly, I also indicate that my time is pet time up to 8;30pm then I get time to do what I need or relax for the night. I mean why pay for someone who is gone for the day time, or on the phone or worse yet not paying attention to the pet they are sitting for? I was determined to prove service that was above most, and I believe that is what I do. I don't do this to pay my rent I don't do this as a side job and I don't do this because I have to I do it for them the animals that I love to share time with and appreciate so much and knowing how unconditional their
love is they deserve the same and I'm here to give it.
